The people of 142
How 142 was born
142 was born from Sandra Ciciriello's instinct to unite kitchen and dining room with the same voice. Here, farmers, producers, cooks, waiters, and guests sit at the same table.
Every menu is the result of daily dialogue with the market, of a curiosity that never stops, and of the desire to bring a story to the plate. 142, a place built on relationships and raw materials: fish from trusted fishermen, vegetables from small gardens, wines chosen to narrate the territory and their history.
For us, hospitality is life. Welcoming, telling, cooking is our energy. The 142 family signs every experience with care, inviting you to discover flavors, aromas, and stories through the dishes and through the people who create and serve them.

Sandra Ciciriello
Sandra Ciciriello began her professional journey in the markets, first among fruit and vegetable stalls, until she reached, at just twenty years old, the heart of Milan’s fish market, where she made her way among the stalls and fish counters. She began traveling to Italy’s most important merchant marinas, learning to know a raw material as fascinating as it is complex. It’s a trade she has never stopped cultivating, so much so that even today, if you ask her, Sandra considers herself a "fishmonger" at heart. Over the years, her passion evolved to embrace cooking and the world of wine, which would then lead her to become a successful entrepreneur in the restaurant industry. In the early 2000s, Sandra became a sommelier by attending AIS courses. From there, her true vocation was revealed in the dining room, a place she truly feels is hers, and the art of hospitality became her realm. In 2007, she decided to open her first restaurant, Alice, in via Adige, which in 2011 won a Michelin star and later moved inside Eataly Smeraldo, together with Oscar Farinetti. In September 2019, Sandra opened 142 Restaurant, a project that became an extension of her soul. For her, 142 is not just a place where you eat, but an environment that reflects her roots, her love for raw materials, and her vision of cuisine as an art that goes beyond.

Federico Zappalà
Born in 2000, born and raised on the outskirts of Milan, Federico Zappalà brings energy, passion, and tireless curiosity to the kitchen. Raised in a family where food and the pleasure of experimenting with new flavors were part of everyday life, he discovered his calling early at the stove, inspired by his first experiences alongside his father, a photographer and home cook, who passed on to him a taste for details and the wonder of every dish. Federico’s cuisine is born from curiosity and instinct: a creative process in constant evolution that blends technique, sensitivity, and experimentation. Ingredients, producers’ stories, travel experiences, and collaboration with his brigade become fundamental elements of an approach that unites passion and discipline, impulse and reflection. Every dish is a story, the result of a path that grows day by day, open to discovery and sharing.
